Exquisite! This has to be one of the most polished conky themes. Love the attention to detail and also the "functional package".
Thanks for great job well done!

it looks great, but one thing always seemed rather strange to me
why have in god mode mem and mem% instead of cpu info?
heres how that section should be IMO
pastebin.com/ggceYPsd

you wanna see those cpu spikes when something runs, but you will no doubt have good overview over browser and whatnot eating RAM

Also whole thing with compact, comfortable and mini...  its very nice but theres huge focus on being "weather app"
Whole PC monitoring stuff is cut out right on the first minimization, but theres actual increase in weather info (sunrise, sunset)

I think theres a place for a less-god-mode, but not yet comfortable, or what comfortable might be.
Graphs are cut away, cpu, mem, uptive, those single graphs are cut too.
But processes (cpu version) and download/upload are kept. As those two things really tell you quite a lot

Glad you like it.

The reason that there is a focus on it being a weather app is because that's exactly what it is supposed to be. (Even the name alludes to weather.) God-mode is something I added for fun after I finished the design, and also because I knew that most people would want something that deviates from a mere weather app. Any additional concepts are courtesy of tweakers. Among other reasons, this conky was made to promote tweaks and such stuff. :)

As for the mem/mem% thingy, I think the reason I did is because I simply wanted to have 3 rows of info in the last section. With cpu I couldn't get that, while mixing cpu and mem wouldn't work because of the first row with the process name. It's super easy to edit, so it ain't a big deal.
Personally I'd prefer memory if anything. If something starts eating cpu like crazy, you'll be able to tell by the total cpu usage graph (or the cooling fan XD). On the other hand, tracking memory usage can be a bit more.. I guess "subtle" is the word.

With cpu I couldn't get that, while mixing cpu and mem wouldn't work because of the first row with the process name.

But there can be mixing of cpu and ram usage accompanied by the name of the process and I believe it works very well, meaning that the cpu/ram values will corrspond to the process name even with jumping up down..
heres pastebin of the two variations, the initial top or top_mem are defining by what attribute items are ordered first, before plucking the name or some value out of them.

But as you said, its easy to edit

zagortenay333 Featured By Owner Feb 26, 2015  Hobbyist Interface Designer
The way I wan't that list to be ordered is from top to bottom. With that in mind, one cannot mix the two since the process eating most mem isn't necessarily the process eating the most cpu. I tried it a while ago, and it looks pretty confusing.
Reply
:icontheevolutionbaby:
well yes, you can only choose ram or cpu to be the information the processes will get ordered by, but the info of the usage for that process can be for ram and cpu.
I first had memory, but that hardly ever changed and after few days it felt not that much of a use, so I switched to having cpu as the ordering attribute.
Not that it would show some shocking info, but occasionally looking there when I had lag.. I saw what was the cause

heres my version

Hello, Brilliant work ! I have one problem though:
I'm currently trying to use it ArchLinux and I get Network Disconnected instead of the information corresponding to my network. Is there any way to solve it ? Thanks.

Change the etho or wlan in the conky config to something like "enp4s0" or "enp3a0".  Without the quotes of course.

Hi! Great work! I love the Ciliora-Prima theme. I use it in my Archlinux with XFCE. :)

If possible I would like to add some information, but I do not know what I need to modify in the conky.conf.

I would like to see CPU + Processors. Can see the processor consumption for ech processor and global consumption.
In memory add swap memory and add a section where I can see the filesystem mounted to see the free space.
Can you help me to add this information?

Thanks in advance!

How do you fix the drop shadow issue on Ubuntu 14.04? I'm using the stock desktop window system, I think its Unity?
I cannot find this so called "troubleshoot file" you say has the solution.
Google tells me to download compiz-setting-manager or whatever and I cannot use that fix without enabling the window effects and breaking my whole desktop.
Switching to override turns the conky black after awhile as it slowly layers over itself and is hardly readable.
This is an awesome conky but I want to get rid of that shadow!
Is there a tool for messing with the Unity graphic effects or something I'm missing?
Where is this "Troubleshooting" File?

There is no troubleshooting file anymore; ditched it in the last update.

Compiz is the culprit; it draws the shadows on all windows. Since conky is set to act as a normal window, it too gets a shadow. You need to set an exception for it in ccsm.
Not sure what you mean by having to enable window animations though. As far as I remember, all you need to do is go to the window-decorations section. There are a few entries there for shadows and such.

I hope this is what you meant, iam not an expert in this.

You can set it easily from ".conkyrc". Change own_window_type from "normal" to "override". It will eliminate the shadow from a opened window.

zagortenay333, great work. Huge fans of this conky, LOVE it!
A request though, i can't find a way to change the border to become square. I'm using paper theme, snwh.org/paper/. Trying to make it blend it. Please guide me through. Thanks

But I have an issue: screenshot

Yep, that happens with conky on some distros. I have no clue what causes it. Most probably something with the fonts.
As far as I know, only way to solve it is to edit the voffsets yourself.

If you have a voffset at 20, then that line will be moved 20 pixels down away from the line above it.  First set the top line in place, then work your way down.
God-Mode is quite complicated, so try it with the mini-mode ´till you get the hang of it.

Okay, thank you! But finally, I found where it came from: the problem actually comes from the font: in the Cinnamon settings, I changed the "Text scaling factor". When I reset it to 1, everything is works fine.
Again, good work, and thank you;)

This is the best Conky theme I've ever tried.
For those having a black shade all round Conjy, try commenting out (erase the #) this line:
#own_window_argb_visual yes
EDIT: it turned out I was mistaken. That line just makes the window transparent and it looks ugly. Tha black shade behind the window is still there :(

Hi there. First of all, thanks for this great piece of kit. But I do have a question: I read the README info and followed the steps outlined. That is, until I ran into a missing ".conky-weather" file; that file (step 3) is not in the download set I got from devianart today. Am I misinterpreting something here? Have I done something else wrong? I just can't seem to get it working.

Thanks for any help/feedback!

[Update] Never mind. Got it working. The confusing part of the README is that there are 2 move file instructions (step 3 and 5, but only one move is needed) and that nowhere is explained that the ".conky-weather" file is in fact the ".conkyrc" file that you have chosen (based on theme, size/type, etc.). Hopefully, this will help others understand what's meant.

Thanks again!

Thanks for pointing out. The problem is that I recently made a huge update whereby I renamed and restructured stuff, and I overlooked this little step. Step 3 tells you to move the .harmattan-assets folder (formerly ".conky-weather") into your home folder.

Been lazy to look into it. I am not sure whether it is possible in the first place; Harmattan has quite a bit of categorization. If I am not lazy, I´ll look into it. If I remember Dobbie03  was packaging it for conky-manager.

Hey again! ;)

Quick question- I use the transparent theme and love it. If I want to use a desktop background that's white...how can I change all the text color on the conky to black or another color? Thanks! I tried playing a round with the .conkrc but couldn't figure it out.

edit: spelling

In the conky file there is a section for default colors. Color 1, 2, 3, etc.. These colors are then only linked in the bottom section of the conky. You´ll notice that in the transparent theme all colors are set to FFFFFF.

Hm, I see near the top "graphical settings" all colors are set to FFFFFF. Then I see the color1 color2, color3 populated throughout the conky, but I've changed those numbers from -10 to 75 and no changes happen. Am I missing something? Isn't the bottom section of the conky just for the images of the forecast? Sorry, I'm still learning!

What did you change from -10 to 75? All you need to do iis to manipulate the hex values in the graphical settings. FFFFFF is the hex value for white. Change it to 000000 to make color1 black.

Who knows. It seems to be an issue with conky. I generally find that arch users and unity users have it misaligned most often. You have no other choice but to edit it yourself. :/

You can find it in my zukitwo-dark theme in the background-assets folder: texture 1-2-3. It´s a tileable pattern.

Hey! Awesome work on this! I was trying to figure out how to remove the date and time from this conky, leaving everything else the same but when I try and comment it out or remove that section from the rc file it throws off alignment for the rest of the conky... any ideas?? Thanks!
