How do you fix the drop shadow issue on Ubuntu 14.04? I'm using the stock desktop window system, I think its Unity?
I cannot find this so called "troubleshoot file" you say has the solution.
Google tells me to download compiz-setting-manager or whatever and I cannot use that fix without enabling the window effects and breaking my whole desktop.
Switching to override turns the conky black after awhile as it slowly layers over itself and is hardly readable.
This is an awesome conky but I want to get rid of that shadow!
Is there a tool for messing with the Unity graphic effects or something I'm missing?
Where is this "Troubleshooting" File?

There is no troubleshooting file anymore; ditched it in the last update.

Compiz is the culprit; it draws the shadows on all windows. Since conky is set to act as a normal window, it too gets a shadow. You need to set an exception for it in ccsm.
Not sure what you mean by having to enable window animations though. As far as I remember, all you need to do is go to the window-decorations section. There are a few entries there for shadows and such.

Hi ! Huge work, thank you very much !
But I have an issue: screenshot
I haven't changed anything in the file. I tried with the "voffset" but I don't understand how they work !

Yep, that happens with conky on some distros. I have no clue what causes it. Most probably something with the fonts.
As far as I know, only way to solve it is to edit the voffsets yourself.

If you have a voffset at 20, then that line will be moved 20 pixels down away from the line above it.  First set the top line in place, then work your way down.
God-Mode is quite complicated, so try it with the mini-mode ´till you get the hang of it.

Okay, thank you! But finally, I found where it came from: the problem actually comes from the font: in the Cinnamon settings, I changed the "Text scaling factor". When I reset it to 1, everything is works fine.
Again, good work, and thank you;)

Ah, the text-scaling. I remember I made a whole conky while having the scaling factor changed. XD

This is the best Conky theme I've ever tried.
For those having a black shade all round Conjy, try commenting out (erase the #) this line:
#own_window_argb_visual yes
EDIT: it turned out I was mistaken. That line just makes the window transparent and it looks ugly. Tha black shade behind the window is still there :(

Yes, I have a dark frame around conky. I think I'll just use a black wallpaper for now. Thank you.
