Update: 05.09.2013
Turns out I had the text-scaling factor set to 0.9 on my machine.I did that cause i like the font that way. What I didnīt realize is that in the process I adjusted the conky to work under that factor while by default the scaling factor is set to 1. XD Hopefully now it will be better!

Update: 03.12.2013
Improved alignment.

Update: 13.04.2014

So I wanted to change the colors of the icons a bit more dynamically. Using imagemagick, I was able to accomplish this on the fly.
Simpy "sudo apt-get install imagemagick"; then change your icon lines to use the following syntax:…
Where #C7692C is the color you want it to be.

Is there any reason why conky disappears after intial boot (about 5 secs) and has to be restarted from the terminal? Its set to run in startup settings.

Did you install curl?
zhukoz Featured By Owner Jul 31, 2014
Hey thanks for the fast reply

I thought that curl was installed by the <sudo apt-get install conky-all> command which I used to install conky but it must not have since when I open it from the terminal I get this error message

sh: 1: curl: not found

Plus a whole lot of 'No such file or directory' lines lol

Can you install it after the fact with ok im guessing <sudo apt-get install curl>?

Soz im a very rank newb, thanks for your help!

There is a README file in there specifically saying that you need to install curl via "sudo apt-get install curl".
