eOS-Gnome Shell by zagortenay333 eOS-Gnome Shell by zagortenay333
I will not continue work on this theme anymore! If you wish to upgrade it to Gnome Shell 3.10 you are more then welcome to!Please pm me before you do so that multiple people donīt start working on the same thing!!!

I really liked the elementary theme for gnome shell that has been maintained by the amazing :icon0rax0: and wanted to update it to 3.8.Reda decided that I should upload the theme and maintain it!

-eOS for older versions of gnome-shell:…

-Wall #1:…

-Wall #2:…

This theme uses the Droid sans font:…

The amazing NoobsLab team has been so kind to provide a ppa for my themes!!!

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:noobslab/themes
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install eos-gs

This theme comes with support for the awesome GnoMenu Extension by Panacea Projects!( Screenshot / Extension)

This theme also provides stylesheets for the following extensions:

-Frippery Bottom Panel (Screenshot / Extension)

-System Monitor (Screenshot / Extension)

-Text Translator (Screenshot / Extension)

-Workspace Bar (Screenshot / Extension)

-Workspace Indicator (Screenshot / Extension)

-Sticky Notes (Screenshot / Extension)

-Task Bar (Screenshot / Extension)

-Workspace Grid (Screenshot / Extension)

-Transmission Deamon (Screenshot / Extension)

-Weather (Screenshot / Extension)

-Project Hamster (Screenshot / Extension)

Applying Styles:

With the exception of the "GnoMenu" extension,in order to apply these styles, you will have to manually open their directories and get rid of the "stylesheet.css" files inside!
The default directory for extensions is ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions
The best way to get rid of them is to rename them (for example: "stylesheet.css" ---> "#stylesheet.css").
That way if you want to change your gnome-shell theme you can return to this folder and uncomment these files so that the extension can be displayed again under the new theme!

I also recommend you apply the Elementary theme to your "screen-shield" / "login-screen" as well!
In order to do that install the theme into /usr/share/themes.
Now head over to this site and install the "GDM3 settings" tool:

More Elementary goddies:

-Elementary icons:…

-Elementary conky:…

Update 30.09.2013:

Various fixes to overview and notifications!

Various improvements in "gnome-shell.css" file!

Improved OSD notifications.

Salute :)

My absolute favorite theme!

I hope for a version for 3.10. I tried to update it myself, but I failed miserably =P (Razz)

hi!. what distro are you using?  eOS?
zagortenay333 Featured By Owner Oct 8, 2013  Hobbyist Interface Designer
My main distro is Linux mint 15.This theme is made for Gnome Shell 3.8 and not for elementary OS!

Hey, thanks for replying. Yeah, I guessed that you wouldnt be making an elementary gnome shell theme if using elementary OS. But then I figured that maybe you were still using it but using it with gnome shell for a reason. Anyway, I've come back to linux after quite a while and I've been trying the new distros. I recently installed crunchbang linux and I'm enyoing it after having Debian with gnome shell. I just could not like gnome shell. I think the deal breaker was the new "notification area". I believe it is posible to add extesions to change this back to the taskbar, but anyway. Thank you for your response.

Yeah I donīt like gnome shell for a lot of reasons either. If you have a similar mindset as I then maybe you could give cinnamon a try!It has the same extensibility as gnome shell in form of applets desklets and extensions but the DE has a classical and proven approach!Or you could always use KDE :)
